This blog was inspired by years of running, and more importantly, learning more about myself through running. I have kept my eyes open through all of my challenges, failures, and successes throughout my running experiences so far, and this is my platform to share them.
For some background, I found running in the form of high school cross country, and totally fell in love. I was never the best at sports, but I seemed to really find my place putting in miles on the sidewalks, trails, center dividers, and tracks. I ran cross country and track at a local community college before transferring to a University, where I chose to start getting into Marathons and longer distance races. I did well in college, and completely transformed as a runner. My form improved, I focused on building mental strength, and my PR’s saw the benefits. At the same time, I worked and managed local run shops, which introduced me to the world of running products and all of the every-day runners who make our community so wonderful. Those customers ultimately encouraged me to share my running stories and tips as I continue training, racing, and having fun.
After college, I started learning the hard way what it meant to stay in racing shape while maintaining a career and tough work schedule. A lot of my blog is about being a runner with everything else going on – family, work, non-running adventures. I am not a pro, or even a great runner by many standards. I am just someone who is doing what they love, and writing about it. I hope you enjoy these posts as much as I’ve enjoyed sharing them.
